What is Chiropractic?

The goal of a Chiropractic adjustment is to mobilize a restricted motion segment. This basically means the doctor will find areas in the spine or extremities that are not moving properly and apply a quick specific non-invasive thrust to the area of concern. This type of adjustment allows the muscles and tissues to relax around the joint thereby providing proper motion and function. If everything is moving correctly the body is less stressed and the chance of irregular compensation decreases.

If left untreated, this can lead to joint restriction, bone degeneration, inflammation, pain and possible nerve compression.  Nerve compression is a serious issue. Every nerve plays a part in how the body functions. Breathing, digesting, sensation, or muscle movement are some examples. If nerves make everything happen then wouldn’t it make sense to take care of our spine which houses our nerves? This is where Chiropractic Care comes in. Correcting improper function is the key to getting to the root of the problem. Remember pain is just a symptom. There is a deeper issue going on.  Chiropractic care can help identify and improve the body’s ability to correct course and heal.
